Attachment: Application Form for Rapid Nucleic Acid Testing Products of Agricultural Genetically Modified Organisms
According to the International Organization for the Application of Agricultural Biotechnology (ISAAA), in 2018, 26 countries around the world were growing genetically modified crops, with a total area of 191.7 million hectares. The area planted with genetically modified crops has increased by approximately 113 times since 1996, reaching a cumulative total of 2.5 billion hectares.
Genetically modified biotechnology plays a significant role in crop resistance to pests, herbicides, stress and improving the nutritional quality of crops. It is one of the important high-tech advancements in modern agricultural development.
In order to ensure national food security and control the high-tech of genetically modified organisms, China has also carried out a large amount of work in the research and application of genetically modified crops. At the same time, in order to ensure the safe and healthy development of genetically modified biotechnology, China has formulated corresponding regulations and carried out supervision and evaluation work on genetically modified crops.
At present, it is impossible to distinguish genetically modified crops through simple sensory analysis. The detection of genetically modified crops needs to be carried out in professional laboratories, mainly including DNA extraction, DNA amplification and the discrimination of amplification results. And these operation processes are complicated and require a certain professional knowledge background.
