The ARMS principle is based on the characteristic that Taq DNA polymerase lacks 3 '→5' extrane-correction activity. On the basis of allele-specific extension reactions, an extension reaction can only occur when the 3 'terminal base of the allele-specific primer is complementary to the base of the site to be detected, thereby distinguishing samples with point mutations from those with normal genotypes. The ARMS technology, which is used to detect known mutations, has been widely applied in individualized molecular detection of tumors, gene mutation and SNP locus detection, and has become one of the most important and advanced technologies for individualized molecular detection of tumors internationally. Its advantages in clinical application have been widely recognized in the industry.
