During the in vitro transcription process, inorganic pyrophosphatase can hydrolyze the inorganic pyrophosphate generated along with the reaction, avoiding its inhibition of the reaction system and shifting the reaction equilibrium towards product generation. When applied in in vitro transcription reactions in molecular biology, it can significantly increase RNA yield.
